FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Who needs our service?
You might need TRA if: you don't know Taiwanese culture or speak Chinese; you don't know where to start or how to connect with landlords; you're not sure what a fair price is for the size and location you want; you've found a place but don't know if the contract is fair or how to negotiate; you're too busy to arrange all the details and need a place quickly; or you're visiting apartments and want someone who knows what to look for and what to avoid.
How do I begin?
Before you reach out, think about your budget, location preferences (if any), and how long you'd like to lease for. Then contact us and we'll arrange a time to meet, in person once you're here, or by call beforehand. If you're not in Taiwan yet, we'll recommend booking 1–2 weeks of short-term accommodation so we can start viewing places together as soon as you land, we don't work from photos or listing links alone.
How long will it take to find a home?
Most renters find a place within 3–5 days of starting the in-person search, and almost always within two weeks. If your situation is urgent, let us know and we'll move accordingly.
How much is your service?
It depends on your search, budget, and timeline, so we quote individually rather than publishing one number. Reach out and we'll give you a clear quote before you commit to anything. Either way, we're never paid by the landlord or an agent, so there's no incentive for us to push you toward a pricier place.
Do I still need to pay an agent fee?
If a place we find happens to be listed through a real estate agent, you'll need to pay their fee separately. Most of our searches result in renting directly from a landlord, in which case there's no additional agent fee on top of ours.
